Embroidery - a timeless way to brand

At the Design Lab we specialize in custom embroidery that will bring your uniforms & promotional products to life. Our highly skilled embroidery team use state-of-the-art machines to transform your designs into quality stitches that will elevate your brands image. We offer a full range of embroidery services, with the capacity to embroider up to 36 garments at any one time.

How does Embroidery work?

Embroidery is a process that involves stitching thread onto fabric or other materials to create intricate designs. Here at The Design Lab, we start by digitising your design to create a pattern that is compatible with our state-of-the-art embroidery machines. Your chosen garment or promotional product is then securely hooped and loaded onto the machine. The machine then uses the digitised pattern to guide the needle and stich the design. With precision and artistry, the machine creates quality embroidered pieces that showcase the richness of the thread and the intricacy of the design. From hats to shirts and more, embroidery adds a touch of elegance to the garment or product.

How much does Embroidery cost?

There are two costs for embroidery. The initial setup/digitizing fee start from $50 + GST, this is a one-off cost. Once your logo is digitizing there are no further costs or re-set fees, unless you wish to alter the design in anyway. Then there is the cost to embroider the garment/product. This cost is worked out by the number of stitches within the design & the quantity of units being embroidered.

Our Embroidery recommendations

There are a couple of things we do recommend for embroidery.

- Minimum of 4 units per order.

- Not all designs & garments/products can be embroidered. With our expertise we will advise you on this.

- Large designs/logos we recommend printing – e.g. screen printing.

- We can embroider a maximum of 6 colours.

- Use solid colours not gradients. Gradients are hard to achieve with embroidery & don’t look the best.

- Use bold lines & clean shapes. Don’t use skinny lines or textured shapes.

- Don’t include tiny details. Simple, bold, clean lines.

- Sans-serif fonts and bold text look the best with embroidery. Stay away from Serif fonts with extending features.
